Bavaria offers plenty of fascinating museums, this website gives you suggestions based on regions and topics that reach from history, archeology, and culture to science, art, and technology.
If you want to go for beer, cars, and castles (preferably not in that order), you should look at:
- Weihenstephaner, Erdinger, and Hofbräu offer brewery tours in English
- BMW in Munich, Audi in Ingolstadt, and Maybach in Neumarkt
- Neuschawnstein, Herrenchiemsee, and Neuburg (with a fest from 27/06 to 29/06 and from 04/07 to 06/07)
- National Park Bayerischer Wald
- Climb (or take the cable car) up to Germany's highest peak, the Zugspitze in the Alps! You can take a gorgeous train ride from Munich main station there. It's also not far from there to the fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein.
- National Park Berchtesgaden (in the Alps)
- Swim, sail, surf, cycle or visit castles at the Chiemsee lake
